Sedation for cutting dog's hair?

I am going to groom a dog. Its hair has dreadlocked. It has been awfully neglected.

I have a set of clippers, but I don't think he will hold still. There are especially tricky bits around ears, feet, chin, and buttocks.

Is there anything I can but over the counter to give him a nap for an hour?
