Wet vs Dry Cat Food Advice

Hi guys, I have a 7 month old male kitten. I know this question has been asked a million times but I am pretty confused with all the information out there. I've seen vet websites and even my own vet saying dry food is fine but then I've also read the catinfo website saying even the cheap 50 cent wet cans are better than the expensive dry.

Buying good wet food all the time is way too expensive in Canada (eg. 2.69 per can of Weruva). Should I buy a bunch of the cheap wet food with all the byproducts and just feed that? Or go with high quality dry (i have orijen atm) in the morning and a medium-tier wet food like wellness in the evening?
