We adopted a pair(1.5 y) of cats about 12 days ago, and so far things have been fine. I am willing to let them adjust at their own pace and they haven’t given me any problems. On advice from the shelter we are acclimating in our spare bedroom, and blocked off under the beds and dresser. We have also given them a couple of “cat cave” beds as well as some boxes for them to hide in. Unfortunately I only ever find them under the blankets. I do hear them out at night and they are eating and using the litter box so I know that they are ok.
So my real question is should I take the blankets off the beds or would that be doing more harm than good? Any other suggestions are always welcome.
