I have two cats and it just blows my mind how different they are. The female is only a bit older 2-3 maybe? She was a stray for a while, so I like to think she’s tough as nails. When you hold her she just feels so... solid? She’s even lost some weight (she was getting a little too heavy for a minute there). I’d guess she’s around 11 lbs, most of it is muscle. An absolute beast of a cat.
Meanwhile, my male cat is a bit younger but he’s about a 1.5 years so he should be hitting his full size soon. He’s close to the same weight (10 lbs when we last saw the vet, most of it’s his tummy lol) but he just feels so delicate and squishy. When you hold him he feels like one of those squishy toys from the 90’s, or a slinky. Even though he’s not even vaguely underweight I can still feel his bones, which I can’t do on the female.
I mean they’re probably both perfectly healthy, but I just feel like the female is on steroids and the male is a fragile little baby. Have any of you ever experienced anything like that?
