How do y’all handle unleashed dogs? I live an apartment complex where many individuals decide not to leash their dogs, even though it’s a part of our lease that our dogs must be leashed.
My dog is a rescue who was unfortunately attacked by an unleashed dog on property last year. Due to this, he is extremely fearful of larger dogs. I took him out tonight and a large, unleashed dog approached us. I told the woman to get her dog and her response was, “oh he’s nice.” I explained to her that just because her dog is nice does not mean mine is. Even then she still didn’t get her dog and I had to ask her again to grab her dog. I was trying to get out of there but her dog wouldn’t leave us alone. Luckily we were able to walk away after another minute without anything happening, but I’m terrified of it being a different outcome the next time.
Is there anything I can do in the future if we run into this situation again?
