So I work at a pet store. I need to rant. This lady comes up to me with a cart full of stuff. First thing I notice is she has one of those colorful, plastic, crappy cages for hamsters (it's like $50!!), and I cringe. She asks me about the bedding she chose, like asking if any brand is better or whatever. I tell her that they're basically all the same, but I then told her that the cage isn't the best. She asks me what I recommend so I tell her she's better off getting a glass aquarium for the hamster (which is like $15-$20), it's less expensive, easier to clean, will last much longer, etc. I also told her that the cage she had, the hamster would likely be able to squeeze through the bars and escape (she wanted a dwarf). She basically says that she is STILL GETTING THE BAD CAGE, WHY?? I DONT KNOW! There is absolutely no benefit!!! Then she continues to ask about the FREAKING BEDDING. God knows why she cared so much about BEDDING. Then to make it worse, she gets to picking the hamster and picks the one that I'm SUPER ATTACHED to. This little guy is the sweetest hamster ever and is going to an awful home. Oh! To make it worse, the entire time this lady keeps complaining about how she "doesn't even want the hamster"!!! She said it's for her 9 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER for Christmas. I kept wanting to tell her that if she doesnt wanna get the hamster, DONT GET IT. YOUR NOT REQUIRED TO GET YOUR DAUGHTER A LIVING CREATURE JUST SO SHE GETS WHAT SHE WANTS. This irritates me so much about some people, like everything she said was so wrong!!!
