So, a bit of context we adopted cats from a shelter, just under a year old and they lived at a foster home before hand. One of the cats for the first couple of weeks was fine and used the litter tray, however recently he has just decided to urinate on fabric (rugs, curtains, his own bed once) instead, during the day we can prevent this but the issue is he's started doing it over night.
We keep them in the living room over night and make sure the litter tray is clean before hand. We have a routine with them before bed too.
My worry is that if this keeps happening over night we are going to have to keep them in a different room and the only room we could do this in is a small utility room.
Can anyone shed some light as to other ways we can stop this from happening?
Extra info, this isn't an every day occurrence. Maybe once or twice a week.
