Hi! My boyfriend and I have been searching tirelessly to adopt a puppy. Ideally, we wanted to rescue but being that Coronavirus has all of our local shelters temporarily closed, Ive been looking relentlessly for a puppy within 50 miles of our city on Petfinder. Rescues are being overwhelmed with applications, and the fact that I’m under 25 years old has gotten me turned down from two rescues already. I didn’t want to get a puppy from a breeder just for my own morality, I don’t really feel justified buying a dog when so many out there need homes. The crazy thing is after adoption fees and whatever I’d be paying as much as I would to just get a puppy from a breeder. I’m wrestling with this morally and was looking for other opinions. I’ve scoured Petfinder, applied for quite literally every dog I found that fit what we were looking for and I’ve had no luck. Thanks for helping!
