Got a new kitten and we have a cat which is 1 years old. Need help.

Hi,

So today we introduced our kitten to our 1 year old cat, there was growling and hissing from the older cat but no fighting or anything. Our older cat would get a little closer to the cat, growl and then move back and observe. However, we just let out older cat outside as he goes outside every day and I'm now worrying that what if this new kitten causes him to run away.

Is it a wise idea to let your older cat outside when you recently got a new kitten?

Can i have advice on what to do to make them more comfortable?
