Battle Between Brothers (Neither Brother has his B*lls)

Hey there! So my cats who turn 9 months today, recently got a male castration procedure. For some backstory, they were brothers who were very fond of each other, but around the age of 5-6 months, they began spaying EVERYWHERE! And around 7 months-ish they began yowling and fighting with each other. Our vet told us that surgery can only be done after 8 months, so once the lockdown lifted, we neutered them. (This was 10 days ago)

For the first 3-4 days post neutering, they were confined in separate cages but in the same room. Gradually, as they healed, I let them out of their cages but not out of the room. (We have their mom and sisters outside). They were okay with each other's presence. They would sit side by side and eat next to each other.

Today, we decided to grant them their freedom. We removed their ecollars and ceremoniously let them out (with graduating music playing in the background for the irony). However, after about an hour or so, one cat started attacking his brother and yowling. What happened? What may have triggered him to be aggressive again? Is there any way to fix this? The other cat is relatively calmer and slowly walks away. (But he does yowl back too). Please help me fix this behaviour, I'd hate for my parents to force me to give them away! Thank you for reading. ♡
