My cat is obsessed with milk

Hi all, I've posted a few times before. I adopted a stray cat off the streets and he's been living the indoor kitty life for about 6 months and has adapted quite well. Currently he's become obsessed with (cow) milk. He's figured out what the milk carton is and will harass anyone in my house for milk when they are pouring some. I know milk typically isn't good for most cats since they can't digest it very well which is why I don't indulge him as often as he would like. I've even tried pouring milk while he's eating and he will stop and bug me for some. It's gotten to the point that I have to carry my glass of milk with me because if I don't watch it like a hawk he will steal it. My question is should I just ignore his behavior and only give him milk as a rare treat, or should I give him a little when I do use it so he doesn't feel like I'm teasing him every time I use it. I appreciate any advice or feedback! Thanks for taking the time to read.
