How can I help my mean cat?

So, I live with a nine year old cat, and a five year old cat. My parents got our first cat when I was very young. She was the cutest kitten I had ever seen, and me being my young self I played with her a lot, but maybe too much. Not gonna go too into detail, but long story short my cat grew up to be aggressive and mean due to stress, and I feel like it’s my fault to this day. Her behavior has been quite strange as of recent. For example, if I sit on a couch, she will come and sit on my lap, and allow me to pet her. If I move even slightly the wrong way, she’ll hiss, growl, scratch, and even bully our other cat and steal food at dinner time. My parents have been threatening to get rid of her for a while now because of this, and I’ve been trying to help her become friendly to no avail. I fear today was the last straw between my father and this cat. She laid on his lap and purred, but scratched him in the face. After a while and drew blood. He says that all love has ended between that cat and him. From now on, he said that he would feed only our nice cat and not the mean old one. And make sure that she doesn’t eat by his hand again.

I really need to find something to help calm this cat down, and make her friendly around people. I hold the blame for potentially stressing her out as a kitten, causing this behavior. If she can’t calm down soon, I fear the worst. Is it possible to make this mean cat friendly and calm? Or is she possibly a lost cause?
