My dog was a dumped breeder and has always had large breast tissue, particularly on the lower 4 nipples. We frequently have issues in the summer as a result of being quite active and hiking. She has very short fur and pretty much none on her belly area at all. She’s quite prone to skin outbreaks in general, but in the area between her breasts in particular, which I believe is from the friction. It will get very red and swollen. She just got an allergy shot about 2 weeks ago, and is currently having a bad outbreak on the belly right now. Our vet has recommended chlorahexidine spray and a medicated shampoo that we use regularly to help alleviate the problem. Has anyone had this issue or found a way to prevent it in the first place? She’s a healthy weight (maybe even slightly underweight) so it’s not a weight issue.
