How do I prevent the fur of my cats flying around everywhere while brushing?

My cats do have lots of hair, as most cats do, but now when they are losing their winter coat it's really Bad.

I usually comb them with a furminator, but after two strokes I need to clean it. I usually hold it on top of my trash bin and eject the hair.

With the very light hair of my cats this leads to flying balls of fur everywhere, they stick to the couch or to my hands, my clothes, but they wont stay in the bin..

Does anyone have a good idea how to prevent this? Could I use some gloves or Something to prevent that? Any Genius Tips?
