We used to live in the mountains so his barking was fine there weren't any people around so the only thing he barked at was animals and we encouraged that. Then we moved to the city and now it's constant and he is LOUD. Always dogs walking by. Barking every 10 minutes for months unless he's asleep. And he has a new habit of putting his head over the fence and growling and barking at people walking by. I've had a migraine all day and I hit a breaking point. I didn't hit him hard. I would never hit him hard. It was more of a few hard pats. But I still feel bad because I know it does nothing. I've been trying to correct his barking for months with 0 luck. I've tried verbally saying "no" "bad dog". I've tried time outs. I've tried a tether to me. Nothing works. And now my roommate moved in and his dog does the same thing so it's double.
How do you get them to stop barking?
