Is waking my kitten up abusive?

So I have a brand new furry son, who's a 10 week old kitten named Scout! He's great, though he tends to run around a three am while napping for hours in the afternoon. I've started gently waking him up (through petting, head kisses, talking to him) during these naps to try and help him sleep better at night, but either because of my own lack of deep sleep or quarantine paranoia, I'm growing worried this might somehow be bad for him. I've read that sleep disturbances is a method used by cult leaders to control their followers, and also that cats have a very different slee schedual, and I just want to make sure I'm not harming my little guy in the process of all of this.
