My cat is yowling throughout the night and I'm going crazy from it

Yes I know there are some posts about this, and I read and tried some of the advice, but my cat is in a very different situation from those, so here I am trying to save both of us from insanity.

My cat is 18, and I've had her for just over 4 years now. When my family first adopted her, she spent the first year living in my box spring and only came out at night. It was really only within the last year that she really came around, sleeping on my bed with me, meowing at me for more food, and recently she had even started following me around and rubbing on my legs and all. Because of her age, she isn't interested in toys at all, and would much rather sleep and get cuddles and pets than play with anything, by herself or with me.

That ties into the problem. I just moved into my own apartment about 6 days ago and brought her with me. At first she wasn't really eating, but she is on antibiotics for an upper respiratory infection (they're chronic, but this one got worse than usual) so I wasn't super worried about that. Then the next day she ate like three times her normal amount, so I really wasn't worried.

It only started within the past 2 days that she sits in the middle of an empty room and just meows ridiculously loud, bordering on yowling. There's only 3 rooms to my place, but she has done it anywhere it echoes. She does it somewhat during the day, but last night I got maybe 4 hours of sleep because I kept waking up to her being as loud as possible nearly every hour. I really have to get her to quiet down before a neighbor files a noise complaint, but I'm not sure how to help her. On other posts, it was recommended playing with the cat before night to tire them out, but she doesn't play and she normally used to sleep through the night with me just fine. They said make sure the cat isn't hungry, but she is a grazer and I always leave dry food out for her (also because she is underweight and I'm trying to get her to gain some); plus yesterday she ate a lot more than usual so I doubt that was the problem.

I know it can take time for a cat to settle in, but I really need to help her get through these nighttime yowl sessions as soon as possible. I'm really worried if someone complains to management they will make me get rid of her, which will only be even more stressful for her. I'm wondering if maybe a part of it is her going deaf with age (I've noticed a few times I'll shake a bag of her treats and she won't let react until she actually sees me shaking them) but she quiets down once I've gotten up and entered the room.

Since it has already started again for tonight, I moved all of her things into my bedroom (food/water, litter, beanbag turned cat bed) and closed her in so at least if she does start yowling, it won't echo in here, but because of management being known for using any excuse to redo the carpet and charge for it, I'm really hesitant to keep these in the only carpeted room long term. I'm just lost, exhausted, alone, and wanting to help my baby.
