My kitten bites too hard

My partner and I adopted a kitten a little over a month ago. She's 3 months old now. For context, before we adopted her, she spent almost all her time on the street. She lived under a car with her mom. Since we got her, she's been an entirely indoor cat. We live on a busy street with a lot of stray cats outside + the pandemic hasn't really given us any opportunities to take her out for walks.

We've bought her a few toys:

  • scratching board w/ a ball with bells inside
  • ball with mouse in it
  • a lazer

She likes rolling around in our sheets and biting them. We gave her unused socks that she wrestles and kicks like she's trying to kill them. She often gets the zoomies too.

We also play with her a lot. Probably at least 2-3 hours a day. But she always gets very bitey when we play. She goes for our fingers, legs, arms, and feet. She's even bit my head a few times. She bites hard enough to break skin sometimes. Right now when she bites too hard, we put her in timeout in her carrier for 15 minutes.

Do you have any advice for how to get her to stop biting? Or how to stop her from biting so hard? I wouldn't mind nibbles but her straight up bites are so painful.

tl;dr: my kitten bites really hard, pls help
