So I have a pet budgie that does not trust me. I’ve had him for months and I’ve tried to get closer to him but it doesn’t help. I did go slowly, like at first I just let him be in his cage then over time I would talk and get closer to him slowly, at one point I took him out of his cage but he would stand still or walk away. I found him at my workplace right next to the door, so I managed to buy him a cage and take him home. I can also tell that he was trained before because when I take him out he does not fly and he is already trained to stand on a finger when you put it in front of him. I did buy him another bird and they got pretty close but one of them managed to escape and fly away. What can I do to get him closer to me?
