Pregnant feral cat is missing

We can’t find our pregnant, feral cat...

Hi everyone,

We’ve been taking care of a couple of cats that showed up in our neighborhood awhile ago. There is an older female and a smaller female. We call them Momma and Baby. Momma is much more sociable and friendly than Baby. Sadly, they got pregnant before we could get them to the vet. Momma has had her kittens and is safe in our house. Baby is much more skittish and would not get into a box or a crate even outside of our house where we feed her to have her kittens. She disappeared yesterday afternoon and we haven’t seen her since. We are worried she had her kittens somewhere else in the neighborhood or something happened to her.

What can I do to make her come home to eat or try to find her? This is the longest we’ve gone without seeing her, as she usually stays in our yard. I would think out of anywhere in the neighborhood she would have had her kittens somewhere in our yard.

I have left out food, but I’m afraid to leave it out overnight in fear of male cats or other animals being attracted. We don’t have any blankets or boxes she liked to sleep in. My mom asked our next door neighbor if he would check his shed, but no luck, which is strange because she ran into his yard the other night (she’s never done this). The other house is vacant and we can’t get into the backyard to check. My family is very worried about her as she hasn’t eaten in over 24 hours and is probably very scared to have kittens, as she is very small and still young.

tl;dr, Tiny, pregnant, feral cat hasn’t been seen in over a day, think she had kittens, hasn’t eaten, but can’t find her or her nest. What do I do?
