So my roommates (they’re a couple) got a dog around the same time I moved in. It’s been a few months and he’s basically become my dog. I walk him everyday, he sleeps with me, I train him, and play with him and everything else pretty much I’m just not financially responsible for him. It’s obvious that me and the pup have clicked and I’m his favorite. I can tell it bothers my roommates (which is understandable) but I didn’t mean for this to happen, and now one of them barely does anything (like doesn’t play with him or take him on walks or anything) and gets so frustrated because he doesn’t like her as much as he likes me and her boyfriend. And I intend on moving around December and I can’t imagine leaving him behind. Not only because he’s become incredibly important to me and become my favorite hiking buddy, but because I’m not confident they’ll step up once I’m gone and give him all the love and attention I give him now. They also have very different beliefs from me when it comes to training him and rules with him, and I don’t feel like some of them are fair. But it’s not technically my dog so I don’t feel like I have a place to tell them how to raise him and the rules they make. How do I express my frustrations and also bring up my willingness to buy him from them?
