So I (M33) met this Girl (F29). Best thing thats ever happened to me. Gorgeous, funny, independent, smart, etc. We have been dating for over 6-7 months now. And I want to see more of her. But she has a little dog. A tiny 10 lbs Poodle Schnauzer or a Snoodle (thanks Google for that term). The dog is a rescue, very protective and doesn't get along with other people. The dog likes my gf and her dad (she lives with her family), but doesn't like her brothers (over 25YO both). He does bark at them ALL THE TIME, but he doesn't try to bite them every time he sees them. I mention her brothers' age, because they are around the same height & build as me. So I do t think he sees me as too menancing or as a predator. Whenever I come over to her place, the dog barks up a storm, lunges at me to bite my legs. I stop him by putting a bag of groceries in the front of me and he runs away barking. (I have brought over a lot of food, especially during the whole COVID time). Later in the evening if I get too close to her, the dog barks and tries again. If he sees me sitting in the couch, even when I am sitting away from her, he will come by and stroll past me and its a 50/50 chance that he will suddenly bark and lunge and bite. He has gotten me around 5 times now. A few times in the legs and 2 times in my hands as I tried to stop him with an open palm and he got me there. Only once pierced skin and drew a tiny bit of blood. So is there something I could do? I tried to give him bacon and food, and he likes it and doesn't do his normal behavior if I have food, but after its finished he forgets who gave him people food and goes back to hating me. I started rubbing my hands with bacon before coming into her house and keeping bacon in my pocket. But nothing. It attracted her mother's cat. Didnt know that would happen. I pet him while she is holding him, so he sees that I am gentle and he associates my smell while he feels safe in her arms. But no dice. Sometimes I think he gets even angrier with me in that scenario, like "You think you can get away with it cause my mom is here? Wait till I get down from here you POS!!" I gave my GF a shirt that smelled like me, so she would sleep with it and her dog would have my smell every time they slept in the same bed and it would be there so regularly that he would get used to it, but also didn't make much of a difference. I started wearing cowboy boots to have some shin protection after he nipped at my legs a few times. I want to go to the next level with this woman. But she is afraid of her little fur-child, not ever liking me. And she is hesitant to proceed and I'm running out of ideas. Any suggestions?
