My dog, simba, is a 12 year old shih tzu with real constipation issues going on right now. We can’t take him to the vet because it’s 12:30AM and my mom would rather take him in the morning to avoid the emergency fee. We’ve tried giving him wet food, pumpkin purée, massaging his belly (he’s really bloated), and he’ll still drink his water. But he’s real sluggish, keeps losing his balancing and his body will kind of slide around on the floor until he refocuses again. He keeps trying to poop. This has never happened before. I really feel bad for him. Is there anything I can do right now to relieve some discomfort? Are dogs allowed to have laxatives? I read mixed things on Google. Just not sure.
