I have 2 adult cats, and recently adopted a 9 week old kitten. She only pees and poos on soft, carpeted things. I've bought a new litter box just for her, and place her in it multiple times a day. She doesn't use it at all, she genuinely just starts eating it.
I've tried a lot of methods, like having her in a carrier with the litter box, put a cover on it, taken the cover off, etc. She's adjusting really well with our adult cats so I know it's not a behavioral issue.
Should I switch to a softer litter? She doesn't really like stepping into her current box. The litter I use now is a clumping, medium coarse texture, and I use a litter attractant which she likes to EAT. Shes extremely cute but I genuinely can't keep her if she doesn't use her box.
