Hey everyone.
So I took my new kitten to the vet yesterday and, after the stool sample was given, I was told that she has roundworms. I've had her for about 3 weeks (I took her to the vet for the first time on the first day I got her). Now I am absolutely terrified of I or my family getting it, and although she is given treatment I don't know where to start in insuring that we're all doing okay. I clean the litter box every other day or every three days, and replace the cat litter every week and a half. I heard only instant heat kills roundworm eggs, but that's after I've been using Lysol to clean the box.
I see that she's had cat litter paw prints on the hardwood floor after leaving her litter box, is it possible that it could be on her paws and she's walking around the house carrying roundworm?
Any advice on how to deal with the human side of the issue while the kitten is going through treatment?
