hey! so my friends cat had a litter of 2 a few months ago and i bought one of the kittens. ive had him almost a month and he'll be around 13 weeks now. he settled in pretty quickly and he is a very social kitten! absolutely loves attention and people. but ive noticed a few behaviours that have kicked in over the past week and im unsure about them.
• he sucks and kneads blankets every night, and then he will get on my belly while im asleep and i wake up to a belly ache and him kneading my stomach. all i can do is pick him up and let him lay next to me while i comfort him and try and get him to drift off
• sometimes he randomly hides under the coffee tables and looks TERRIFIED. it's heartbreaking to see, especially when its out of nowhere. he's used to the TV and my boyfriend being around now, so im unsure as to what/why he could be nervous. he also follows me everywhere and can be a little destructive at times
• He's been awfully lethargic. i'm trying to train him to follow basic commands (sit, up, paw, etc.) and he was responding really well to me and my boyfriend! but this past week he's been really uninterested. even when theres treats involved. this doesnt always happen, but its been happening more and more. it seems unusual for him.
he's seeing the vets tomorrow (well, today, it's 4am) for his vaccines so im gonna book him a check up asap to see if we can figure out if anythings up. does anyone else have a cat/kitten who exhibits these behaviours? could it be anxiety? ive read tons of articles but would rather hear it from a kitten/cat owner
