My 1 year old male tabby, while usually an outdoor cat sits on the porch almost all the time, about 2 weeks ago he up and vanished, he turned up yesterday night around midnight and he's lost almost half his weight. He's been very sparsely drinking and barely eaten any of his usual food, that coupled with severe diarehha, he jumped at a can of wetfood though, is it normal for malnourished cats to prefer very fragrant/enticing foods or should i have him checked out immediately? i've had a family member who is a vet take a look and they said he's for the most part fine minus dehydration and obvious feeding issues. either way i will be taking him to a vet but i want to see some others opinions on if its urgent or not.
