Diabetic husky: Need help switching from 1 shot to 2 shots a day

How would I go about switching my dog from 1 shot of 30 units a day to 2 shots of 15? I'd like to do them maybe at 7am then 7pm.

She already had a shot of 30u today and seized an hour later. I need to switch asap. Her good BS is about 100 and her bad BS get to be anywhere from 300-500 which is ridiculous. I'd go to my vet but he was the one who told me once a day was fine and that he didn't have the equipment to test her anyway.

My husky is almost 12 and has been diabetic for about 2 1/2 years. She's been a healthy happy dog on 30 units of Novolin-N once a day until two weeks ago. She woke up with ridiculously high BS at about 500 and had a seizure right before her shot. I dismissed it because my mom went overboard making sure she ate. A few days later she seized twice right after her shot and breakfast and today was the same ordeal after about a weeks worth of no problems.

Nothing was done differently. I just want to switch her to a twice a day routine so the sugar spikes aren't terrible in the morning. Maybe I shouldn't feed her immediately following her shot? I was told from several sources that food with the shot is best to combat the insulin spike 6 hours later. Now I'm thinking, she's so low in the morning that she shouldn't have any food until an hour later. I don't know and I'm at a loss. I just want my baby's remaining years to feel as happy as she acts even when she's faced with trouble.
