Her name is Lucy and she is an English Bulldog. Not quite sure how to put this but Lucy is terrified of getting washed in the shower. My father is usually the one who does the job, but Lucy has become more and more defiant of taking baths because of the fear she has of them. She always decides to hide away as soon as someone says the word “bath” or “bathy”. Whenever we try to motivate her to come to the shower, she trembles as if she is about to die, and that is no exaggeration.
Just recently my father tried to “lure” Lucy into the bathroom by leaving pieces of leftover bacon on the floor that led to the bathroom and that did not go well at all. As soon as my dad tried to open the door and push her in, she ran downstairs and hid away. My dad later came down with more bacon to try to comfort her but Lucy turned her head away and refused to eat it. Let me rephrase that: My English Bulldog will not eat bacon...
Anyways, I am simply asking for help/tips to help my dog overcome this fear. Thank you!
