My daughter is doing a ‘persuasive speech’ for school and has chosen responsible pet ownership as a topic, specifically to focus on the topic above.
She asked for my help on identifying reasons why buying pets on impulse is not the best idea. Something she feels very passionately about. So far she has come up with 1. Higher risk of pets ending up unwanted, put in a shelter, and then possibly put down. 2. Possible poorer quality of life for the pet, as the responsibilities associated with having a pet haven’t been fully considered.
I struggled to come up with other reasons, and wondered what other people thought may be good reasons to argue against impulse pet decisions.
