Hi r/Pets I need your help choosing a pet

I'm a 21 year old guy that's loved animals and wanted a pet all my life, and I think it's my time to finally get one. There are a few constraints for me here, the first one being space. I live in a small apartment with my family of five (I'm from south India so its the norm here not to move out, but I've been trying to find a place to move out ). So there isn't much space here. The second constraint is my working hours. I work from 11 AM - 8 PM and I sleep from about 1 PM to 8:30 PM. I've been trying to change my sleeping hours from 11 PM - 6 AM but I don't think I can do that for now, and I would prefer a pet that I can spend time with in the night in the weekdays, and in the daytime in the weekends if possible.

I've got a few options here - rats, hamsters, lovebirds and cockatiels.

Rats/Hamsters - These are nocturnal animals, which is a good thing for me. But I want a pet that I can cuddle with and I'm not sure how much they like to cuddle. There aren't any exotic animal specialists in my city, so I would have to take them to a general vet in case of emergencies and they might not have much expertise in small animals. Another negative is their short life spans, I don't want to get attached to an animal, only for it to die soon.

Cockatiels/Love birds - These birds require a lot of undisturbed sleep, so they will not be active in the night time, which is a negative for me. There are a few avian vets in my city so I can take the birds there when medical care is needed. And they have fairly long life spans, so that's a good thing.
