Hello all!!
Recently, I was stuck abroad for a month because on a short vacation gone horribly wrong my dad almost died and we had to have him in the hospital until he was safe to return home. We have three pets... two dogs and a cat, who is 6 years old. The dogs are totally fine with being left, they’ve experienced periods where my whole family is gone for over a week, but the cat has never experienced this, especially not for an entire month. We had someone coming to the house to take care of the pets, feeding them, cleaning litter, etc but she doesn’t really like cats and so probably didn’t pay the poor kitty much attention...
We came back to her hiding under the bed, she’s running away from my parents whenever they try to touch her, she will only really come to me and the SECOND I touch her she is purring like a motorboat. She isn’t eating, she’s been vomiting, hiding and meowing nonstop... Googled and all these symptoms suggest separation anxiety :(
How can I help the poor thing? I’ve been trying to drown her in affection and catnip but she won’t even touch her favourite tuna or catnip, ignores her toys, just hiding under the bed... it breaks my heart seeing the poor baby so upset :(
