I have a bichon. She just turned 16 the end of December. She’s been increasingly losing her sight and hearing over the past year. The past two months it’s gotten pretty bad and we don’t think she can hear at all anymore. Her sight is almost gone now too and she’s anxious a lot because of it. She cries a lot when she can’t find me or her way around. We recently had to put down our other dog in November and that hit her hard too.
She still eats and drinks well. She has trouble jumping on the couch and going up and down steps and most of the time we pick her up and help. She has trouble holding her pee in and has accidents around the house often. Walking her is very hard and she gets super nervous. She’s on medication for anxiety and pain and also for brain support.
I’m debating if euthanasia is an option or if I should wait for her to adjust more.
