I have had a cat named Mimi for the past 17ish years and over the past few months, Mimi has gone pretty much completely blind. I took him to the vet and he doesn’t have any serious health issues. We recently adopted a 1 year old beagle mix dog named bear and he’s been very cat friendly. He doesn’t act aggressive at all. But whenever Mimi gets close to bear, whether it’s intentional or unintentional (cause he’s blind), he usually does a deep meow and hisses. It’s only been about 5 days since we introduced bear so I know it may just be a gradual process. But what things can we do to help Mimi. He use to play with puffball toys before he went blind. Are there any toys that’s age especially good to blind cats? Also should we scold the cat when he lashes out at the dog? Or would that make things worse?
