Is there anything I can do/give for/to a senior cat that is on his last days/weeks to make him feel better?

I know the time is coming soon. But is there anything the vet could do if I take him in to make his last days better? I don't mind taking him in, but I don't want to stress him out for nothing.

Edit: I've given him Sheba, canned Friskies, canned Fancy Feast, and the Friskies pouches. He's not eating much and is begging for food. He's not eating dry either. I don't know what to do for him.
