Looking to adopt a cat, but my work schedule may not be accommodating. Advice would be appreciated.

Hello, I work a tough schedule. 12 hours a day for 14 days, then 14 days off. Rinse and repeat.

I do go home every night so I'll be able to see the cat every day.

Would the cat be ok if i get something like an automatic feeder? Would there be other complications leaving the cat home alone in the apartment for 13 hours at most?
