So I have never owned a male cat and have only ever had cats that were adopted and fixed young. I would love to adopt an adult or senior kitty and I don't know why, but having a male cat is appealing to me. I have heard that male cats spray if they were not neutered before they matured enough to spray, or something like that. And that if they do spray, the smell is awful. If I were to adopt a mature male cat, I probably wouldn't know at what age they were neutered. I live in a spacious apartment with good windows, but I wouldn't want that smell to pervade the whole apartment if it is that bad. Is my Information totally wrong? Or is it a matter of the cats general mood or what? I really don't know anything about this topic as I have only ever had girl kitties, so any information would be helpful.
