I have to move about 550 miles away in a couple of months. I have four cats (three are 8-10 lbs. and one is 22 lbs.) and a 2017 Honda Accord.
I was thinking if I bought one or more of those really heavy moving blanket things online and lined the back seat / back seat backs with them and then set the cat carriers on top of that that should keep the seats from pretty much any damage. The car only has 8K miles on it (I bought it brand-new) and I really don't want it to get screwed up.
As far as carriers, I was thinking about getting the type that you can put a water bottle attachment to like you see at shelters sometimes so the felines don't get dehydrated? Is there something similar for food maybe so they don't get hungry?
I have no idea about litter boxes? Would cats need to have them for a 12-ish hour drive? (its 550 miles but the roads aren't the best - not that they are in bad shape, its just sort of a circuitous route, it's not straight highway/you have to drive on some fairly smallish roads for a fair bit of it).
