i have two kitties and they are literally perfect little beings and i love them but i’m worried about one. i got her 7 years ago, and the other 5. they’ve lived together ever since and have been through 2 successful moves with me.
recently i moved into an apartment with a roommate. the apartment is big and my room is on the opposite side of the living room, kitchen, etc.
my roommate has a dog. my one cat could literally not care any less about the dog and prances all around doing her thing. but my other cat is not. cool. w. the dog. and he is not a huge fan of her either. he barks and chases her back into my room. he’s not aggressive about it but it still freaks her out.
idec if she and the dog don’t get along. the bigger issue is that i’m worried she’s lonely.
most of the humans and animals spend time in the common areas. she’s had a cat friend (they played and snuggled a lot) for 5 years and now spends most of her time alone. i make sure to pop in and see her when i can throughout the day, and she sleeps w me at night. sometimes i tuck the pup away in my roommates room to give her free range of the apt and she loves that.
but otherwise she mews real loud and sometimes i can hear her going nuts back there. worried about my beeb. want her to be hap she’s my OG kitty
should i focus on getting the animals to coexist better? if so, how? or should i just work on spending more time in my room for her sake? or am i anthropomorphizing this fucking cat and she’s really just fine and i need to chill
