About 2 years ago my dad got my mom a 32,000 piece puzzle for Christmas. She loves puzzles. The pieces come in 8 separate bags so you can assemble it as 8 separate 4,000 piece puzzles and connect them in the end. However, my mom was always up for a challenge, so she mixed them all together.
Side note: at the time of the incident our cat had been injured and recovering (tube to flush fluid, cone around his neck, the works). So he was already on edge most of the time
We then had one very large box filled with puzzle pieces and well... you can probably guess where the story is going from there. We were sorting pieces from the big box one day and my hand brushes past a turd our cat had left (and buried) in the box. Not only that, but two days later the pieces started to smell and we had realized our furry friend had peed on it too.
It all ended up okay in the end though. We sprayed it with cleaner for a few days, and the pieces were a bit frayed and discolored, but still usable. We completed the puzzle about a month ago.
