Like the title says, the last few months I've been taking care of an adorable "stray". At first she wouldn't even let me look at him, but id catch him on my porch. Started feedingher, gaining her trust. Now she's porch cat. And I <3 her.
We've been trying to get her inside, its been getting colder and colder, but she will not have it. We can kinda coax her into the door, and if we close the door, she freaks out. She starts crying and it's so heart breaking i immediately open the door back up and she runs out. This is followed by me petting her for 20 minutes and apologizing.
We made a shelter house for her, but she wants nothing to do with it. We believe she is from a cat colony, her ear is clipped, and down a few streets this lady feeds like 100 different cats in this abandoned parking lot.
But the real issue is, ... i am moving. Soon. Like in 30 days we will be totally gone. Now, i am moving within town, only a few miles away, and the land lord is ok with us having a cat, but, what do i do? She obviously is terrified of being inside. Do I just nab her up and be like "Too bad your inside cat now. " and hope she gets used to it ? Do I wait till we are ready to move and grab her up and take her to the new house to do this?
Or.. do i say goodbye, as I don't wanna force her to do anything and want her to have the best quality of life possible.
Im confused.
EDIT: Also by saying "grab her up" i dont specifically mean grab. More like, trick.. into house.. or cat carrier.
