My 18 year old Siamese cat gets put in the laundry every night when we go to bed due to the fact that he meows through the night, but it seems to be getting worse lately. His meows have become more distressed and he’s begun to claw at the laundry door to try and get out. It’s getting to a point where it’s beginning to annoy my partner and I’s housemates a lot. We recently moved late August and I’m not sure if the stress of the move might still be affecting him or not.
We’ve tried having him sleep in our room for a period of time before we started putting him in the laundry, as he was keeping my partner up in the night and was also scattering his kitty litter all over the floor. We’ve tried feeding him right before bed but it does nothing. I think it’s gotten to a point that he’s scared of the laundry as he’s always reluctant to go in it and tries to run out when we lock him up every night.
I’m not sure how to fix this issue as it’s becoming a big problem for my house mates. Please help!
