Hiya, I have two small dogs, both rescues, both around 10 yrs old but got seperately.
For years my 1st dog Oli had always been super excited about his ordinary kibble (vet quality not supermarket) and always promptly reminding me it's time for dinner.
Newish (had for 1 yr) Amy has skin issues so with vet's input we've been trialling different kibbles, raw, special canned etc (conclusion is she has genetic issues as all forms of food restriction over the year hasn't helped). We always did slow transitions with small amounts introducing and never had bowel disturbances due to care of changeover speed.
The last change we made to a specific 'old dog' kibble they both just clearly didnt like. Would eat around it when it was combined, lost enthusiasm when it was all there was.
I transitioned them back onto one they used to go hyper for, but the past 2 weeks neither of them are interested in food, neither are excited when it comes out, neither ever finish their bowl in one sitting.
I tried not feeding for 1 day, mild increase in interest.
If it was one dog being disinterested I would assume health issues, but its both. Are they just fussy from being given more yummy food like raw etc?
Side notes: no fleas, no dental issues (recent vet visit and clean within past 3 months), no ticks, no change in other behaviour except winter has set in and it's cold.
