New dog training

Ok so Ive had a husky sheppard mix named kita for 3 years (adopted when he was 2) and I (shockingly) never had to use a crate with him. He has never chewed anything ever and so has been trusted to live freely in the house for the entire 3 years.

Ok so I adopted a new dog from the humane society 2 days ago after multiple play dates to ensure she got along with kita. She is a 10 month old Anatolian sheppard mix name chevey. All is well overall but to ensure her safety at night and when im gone I've been trying to crate train her. The problem is Im like 98% sure she was abused before arriving at the humane society so she gets very shaky and nervous around the crate and if there is a loud noise or sudden movement she cowars. It breaks my heart but I'm trying to make the crate less scary with toys and treats and a nice bed in it.

I was hoping you fine reddit folks may have some advice for how to make it less scary to her. I always treat her for getting in and coming out. I have a nice bed inside and some of the toys shes familiar with. The crate is in my room beside my bed so she can see me at night and kita. If I leave during the day, I turn on the radia low so she can hear a voice and when I get home the first thing I do is let her out again and praise her.

Also I have a vet appoinment set up to check on her as well but the earliest I could get was june 17. Ive also contacted a vet tech\behavioural trainer but am yet waiting to receive a date.
