I have a 15 yo cat who has decided to pee in inappropriate places. The carpet in the back hallway has been removed because of this and she still goes in the same spot. Pee pads are currently being used there. She has also been quarantined to the kitchen and basement because of this problem. She started peeing on my boyfriends clothes and belongings he has in the basement. He’s to the point where he wants to throw her out of the house. She has always been an indoor cat and would not survive this. She has lost a lot of weight in the last 2 years and her fur also comes out in chunks constantly as she cannot groom herself properly.
As far as I know, per her last vet appointment, she has no major health issues. I also run a business in my home where children are around everyday, along with my own. The constant smell of cat piss is detrimental.
My question to the reddit world is am I justified in euthanizing her or should I look into other options?
