Hello r/pets!
We’re bringing home a beautiful Maine Coon/British Shorthair mix on Saturday at roughly 12 weeks of age.
A concern that came up recently was our stairs - we have open stairs with carpet on each step (so not slippery), but enough space between the individual stairs and railings for his Tony body to fit through.
He’s a very capable climber already, we’re just kind of worried that this could be a hazard in the kitty phase.
What would you suggest? Should we block them off for safety or is it okay to give him access to the stairs?
