Our dog had a growth on her back left leg, that she wouldn't stop chewing on. We got the growth removed, but she won't stop chewing the spot, so it won't heal and keeps getting infected.
She's shaped weird (small head, giant shoulders, triangle neck), so cones come off, and she can reach it with a cone anyway. She'll chew thru ANYTHING whenever she's alone to get at it. She's pretty clever.
Any ideas? I'm daydreaming of a thick PVC suspenders contraption. It would limit mobility, but that's ok. If she would just stop chewing it would heal in a week, but I'm really worried we'll need an amputation of it keeps getting infected.
