Concerns about having guests over with two cats

A couple of close friends asked if they can crash in my one bedroom apartment and I agreed since it would only be a couple days and I technically have the space, but given that I have two cats I’m a bit stressed about the logistics. I’m not concerned about my adult 2yo cat, but I have a 4-month-old kitten who is still playful and mischievous and he might be a disturbance to them at night since they’ll be sleeping in the living room. We kept him in the bathroom at night when we first got him but he’s getting bigger and can get basically everywhere in the bathroom so we have been letting him roam around the living room more. He’s pretty messy and tracks litter a lot so we don’t allow him in the bedroom. Since cats get hyper at night, it’s likely they’ll be wrestling and running around and that isn’t ideal with guests sleeping in the same space. One of the litter boxes is also there so the smell might be strong. I would like to not have to keep him in the bathroom while they’re here because we can’t keep things in their normal places and have to keep them out of his reach (i.e. the toilet paper is kept in a cabinet out of sight, towels are folded extra high so he can’t pull them on the floor, cabinets are baby proofed) and that would also be an annoyance for guests.

Either way there’s only so much I can do with two cats in a small space and I don’t know if my friends will end up hating staying here because of the cats possibly disturbing them. Has anyone been in this kind of situation before?
