This is my first pet. I got her when she was 2 months old back in March and her name is Lucy.
I was just sitting around one morning as she stared out the window like she sometimes does. And idk I wanted to call her over.
So I mimicked a noise I heard her make once. I went "yiiaaa" kinda. Its hard to explain. But she flipped her head back at me fast and ran over.
I thought she was just curious because I made a noise she never heard. But as that day progressed I would try it every now and then. When she was just strolling around or in some hidey hole somewhere I would make the sound again.
And every time she would run over and climb at my leg or if I'm laying in bed she'll sniff on my face or does that headbutt thing I read is a sign of affection.
Since then I've been using it when I can tell shes about to go do discouraged behavior (i.e. chew wires) and I make the noise and still after weeks she does the same thing every time I make the noise.
Is this some kind of code word or signaling sound for cats? Did I communicate with her?
