I have a nearly 2 year tortoise shell cat. She has been sassy as hell since we got her but it has been getting significantly worse. We have no idea why she is getting worse. When she turned 1 we got a second tortie who is 4 but she loves her. The 4 y/o is as sweet as can be but the younger one is horrible. You cannot touch her for more than 20 seconds, she scratches and bites when she gets picked up, and she gets very loud and angry when she doesnt get what she wants. She will also be fine one minute and then hiss, scratch, and bite us for no reason. It doesnt matter if we have something like food she will just randomly get upset. It is very concerning she is getting worse and we have no idea why. We obviously want to try to to improve this but we dont even know what is causing it.
